Free IQ test with instant results

Instant, on this site, means the overall IQ estimate and the profile name appear in the browser when you finish the ninth task. There is no account, no email gate, and no wait for a person to score a protocol. Instant does not mean a normed clinical IQ, and it does not mean the written interpretation is free.

What happens when the last task ends

The free IQ test is nine tasks: analogies, antonyms, matrix reasoning, figure weights, paper folding, visual puzzles, computation span, visual reversal, and symbol search. They run in the phone or computer browser. Answers stay on that device. When the ninth task is in, the result page computes an overall estimate, GAI, the gap, and a profile name from the scores you just produced. That computation is immediate because it is arithmetic, not because a clinician reviewed the sitting.

You can stop after any task and come back later in the same browser. “Instant” applies to the finished battery, not to a partial one. A half-finished list is saved progress. It is not a score. There is no countdown on the reasoning tasks. Symbol search cares about pace, because speed is part of that task. Plan on about 30 minutes for all nine.

No sign-up before the first item

The test does not ask you to create an account, confirm an email, or pass a login wall. Sign-in exists only later, and only if you want a finished sitting kept on My page. Payment, if you choose the written reading, asks for an email because that inbox is how the sheet is saved. The score itself does not wait on either step.

That is a product choice, not a claim about accuracy. A test that starts immediately can still be the wrong tool for a decision. How to take the nine tasks is the sitting plan: quiet time, no looking up answers, do not sit it for someone else. Instant scoring will faithfully score a rushed or coached sitting, which is a reason to be careful, not a reason to trust the number more.

What instant does not mean

  • It is not an age-normed score. The 100/15 line is a conventional ruler so the parts of one sitting share a scale.
  • It is not a WAIS or a WISC, and it is not a diagnosis. See online test versus a WAIS.
  • It is not a reliability study. We do not print a coefficient or a standard error we have not measured.
  • It is not the written reading. Domain scores, task scores, GAI versus CPI in prose, and the pattern note are the one-time sheet.
  • It is not a rank against other visitors. The percentile is the normal curve, described on the score chart.

The free result is still a result: an overall IQ estimate and a shareable profile name, with GAI and the gap under the name. The name is one of nine labels from two axes, verbal versus visual and reasoning versus memory-and-speed. How to read a cognitive profile explains the axes. The sample report shows the paid layout with invented numbers, so you can see what the interpretation looks like before you buy it.

The nine-task test on this site prints numbers on a conventional mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15 so the parts of one sitting can be compared. That conversion is not a census norm, not age-normed, and not a diagnosis. A qualified examiner and the publisher’s manual are what a school, a clinic, a job, or a visa can use.

What to do in the minute after the score appears

Read the profile name and the one-line description before you screenshot only the IQ. The name is the part that says whether the average was even. Copy the share text if you want to keep the sentence; it includes the name, the estimate, and a reminder that the figure is unnormed. Then decide whether you want the written reading. You do not have to. The free line is enough if the question was “roughly where did this sitting land?”

Do not submit the page to a school, an employer, or an insurer. Do not treat a second sitting an hour later as an independent measurement; you will remember items. If the question is an official composite you already have, leave this test alone and open the GAI calculator. If the question is a personal estimate and you have no report, the test is the front door, and the result is instant when the nine tasks are actually finished.

Common questions

Do I need an email to see the score?

No. The overall estimate and the profile name appear without an account. Email is for optional sign-in later, or for checkout if you buy the written reading.

How fast is instant?

As soon as the ninth task is submitted, in the same browser. The tasks themselves take about 30 minutes.

Are instant results a real IQ?

They are an unnormed estimate on a 100/15 scale. They are not a WAIS, a WISC, or a diagnosis.
