Paste VCI, VSI, FRI, WMI, and PSI from a WISC-V or WAIS-5 report — or VCI, PRI, WMI, and PSI from WAIS-IV. See the peak, the load, and which index sits below Full Scale IQ. This does not reprint Pearson tables.

Which report

Optional · printed composites, if the report has them

Paste the primary indexes. Official FSIQ, GAI, and CPI are optional. Index means are not Pearson composites.

Already have only two composites? Use GAI vs IQ or GAI vs CPI.

How to use it

How to read the five indexes

  1. Choose the edition. Choose the edition that matches the report. WISC-V and WAIS-5 have five primary indexes. WAIS-IV has four.
  2. Enter the primary indexes. Type the primary indexes. Each must be a standard score between 40 and 160. Paste official FSIQ, GAI, or CPI if the report printed them.
  3. Read the peak, the load, and the gaps. The page names the highest and lowest indexes and two gaps: GAI − FSIQ and GAI − CPI. Index means are not official Wechsler composites.

What these indexes are

WISC-V and WAIS-5 print five primary indexes: VCI, VSI, FRI, WMI, and PSI. WAIS-IV prints four: VCI, PRI, WMI, and PSI. Paste those official index scores. Do not average subtest scaled scores and call the result a Wechsler index.

Only two composites: GAI vs IQ or GAI vs CPI. Subtests by edition: WAIS-IV, WAIS-5, and WISC-V.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does this reprint the official GAI or CPI?

No. Official GAI and CPI come from subtest scaled scores and Pearson tables. If those composites are printed, paste them. If they are not, the page averages the indexes you typed. That average is a reading aid, not a Wechsler score.

Which edition should I use?

WISC-V and WAIS-5 have five primary indexes: VCI, VSI, FRI, WMI, and PSI. WAIS-IV has four: VCI, PRI, WMI, and PSI. Do not mix a childhood report with an adult report in one sitting.

Are these Pearson cutoffs?

No. Percentiles assume a normal 100/15 curve. Bands are conventional labels. We do not reprint critical values or base-rate tables from the manuals.

Can I use this for an IEP or gifted placement?

No. This is a reading aid for numbers already on a report. It is not a school, disability, or employment document, and it does not diagnose.
